Dale Stewart - Director of Photography, Editor
For this documentary piece, one of my main duties are the Director of Photography (DoP). This means when doing my research, I will be looking at framing, shot types and angles and how they create meaning to the documentary. I will have to have to work closely with the director so I can ensure that I can convert her vision into reality so the visual style relates to the documentary mode and idea.
As well as taking the role of DoP, I will also be editing the piece. Taking on both these roles means that it will be easier to edit since I know what shots I have done and what could be used and could not. In post production editing, I would have to work closely with all members such as sound, lighting and the director as editing is the part when all members contributions come together. The style of the documentary really depends on the editing mainly because of the pacing and controlling how we want the audience to react.
