I'm a people watcher. It's more habit than a pass time. You can make up any amount of stories about a person; where they're going, where they've been, who they're meeting. You can create back stories, occupations and hobbies just based on a few seconds of seeing them walk past. I wanted to capture people in the middle of their journeys, to or from wherever it may be, the interactions they have or lack thereof. British people are notorious for keeping to themselves and when presented with any communication we react like a deer in the headlights. Train stations are the busiest, most populated places in Britain with some of the least interaction between passengers. I thought taking photos on a train platform would give me a variety of emotions, impatience, social awkwardness and genuine joy. I approached the essay in an Observational Mode, trying to capture people in 'decisive moment' without their knowledge and therefore without staging.
